Point in Time Count

A Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a federally mandated, unduplicated count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. Thanks to capacity building funding from the City of Charlottesville, BRACH is conducting its first-ever summer Point in Time Count. Led locally by Continuums of Care (CoCs), this annual snapshot is required by HUD to secure federal funding and track national progress. With a summer count, we'll be able to assess the true need of beds and housing stock when our seasonal low-barrier shelter is not open.
