Anh Huynh
Administrative Coordinator
Anh (she/her) serves as the Administrative Coordinator for the BRACH, where she provides essential operational and administrative support to advance the organization’s mission of preventing and ending homelessness in the region. In this role, she helps coordinate internal processes, supports cross-team collaboration, and ensures the day-to-day functions of the organization run smoothly and efficiently.
Anh holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton. She plays a key role in helping BRACH operate with clarity, consistency, and purpose.
Kathryn Crosby
Grants and Data Manager
Kathryn (she/her) serves as the Grants and Data Manager for BRACH, where she supports the organization's mission through data strategy, systems coordination, and grant management. Her work focuses on strengthening the Continuum of Care by improving data quality, supporting funding and compliance efforts, and helping translate complex system information into actionable insights that support people experiencing homelessness.
Kathryn brings a background in organizational effectiveness, strategy, and change management across nonprofit and public sectors spaces. She holds master's degrees in Business Administration and Human Relations and is a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP). Her approach blends systems thinking with a deep commitment to people, equity, and sustainable community impact.
Shayla Washington
Executive Director
Shayla (she/her) is a nonprofit leader with experience spanning fundraising, operations, data management, and organizational strategy. Her career has been rooted in the greater Charlottesville community, where she has worked across nonprofit organizations to strengthen programs, improve systems, build partnerships, and connect people with resources.
Shayla holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from James Madison University and a Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Change, with an emphasis in intrapreneurship, from Pepperdine University. Her graduate work strengthened her interest in using innovation, data, and collaborative leadership to address complex social challenges from within organizations and across systems.
Throughout her career, Shayla has held leadership and operational roles supporting nonprofit organizations and community initiatives. Her experience includes fundraising, grant management, data and information systems, stakeholder engagement, and organizational operations. She brings a particular interest in using data to tell compelling stories, inform decision-making, and improve outcomes for the communities nonprofits serve.
Shayla is currently a board member of the Uhuru Foundation, an advisory board member for the Commonwealth Justice Coalition, and the Vice-Chair of Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission's Regional Housing Partnership. She was a member of the 2025–2026 Virginia Housing Alliance Housing Leadership Institute cohort and previously served on the board of PACEM from 2016 to 2021, contributing to the organization's work supporting people experiencing homelessness in the Charlottesville area.
In 2020, Shayla was the second-place winner of Pepperdine University’s Social Entrepreneurship and Change Fast Pitch Competition, recognizing her work developing and presenting an innovative social-impact concept.
A longtime advocate for housing stability and community-based solutions, Shayla is passionate about bringing people, organizations, and resources together to create stronger systems of support. She believes meaningful change happens when organizations combine thoughtful leadership, collaboration, data, and a deep commitment to the people and communities they serve.
